Pat Rice

Pat Rice’s international career spanned a total of eleven years, between 1968 and 1979 and made a total of 49 appearances in a Northern Irish shirt. He spent the vast majority of his football career playing for Arsenal between 1964 and 1980, making over 500 appearances for the North London club, before moving on to play for Watford between 1980 and 1984. 

Sammy McIlroy

Sammy McIlroy made a total of 88 appearances representing his country, including playing all the matches during the 1982 world cup finals and he was the Northern Ireland captain during the 1986 world cup. He started his domestic football career playing for Manchester United between 1971 and 1982 before moving on to play for Stoke City and he finished his career off playing for Bury in 1987 for three seasons.

George Best
Caps - 37

Best spent 14 years playing for Northern Ireland, despite not playing for the Irish on many occasions in between, his International career spanned from 1964 to 1978, making 37 appearances and scoring nine goals. He is probably the most famous ever Northern Ireland football player. He spent eleven years with Manchester United between 1963 and 1974 before moving on to play for Stockport County, Fulham and Hibernian.

Bryan Hamilton

Hamilton’s Northern Ireland football career spanned a total of eleven years between 1969 and 1980 and made a total of 50 appearances for his nation. He played his domestic football for Swindon Town, Millwall, Tranmere Rovers, Linfield and Everton. He managed the Northern Irish football team between 1994 and 1998.
